Four leads from Claude in thirteen days.
How a Phoenix social media agency went from invisible on its most important AI query to getting real inbound leads from Claude, about nine weeks after the work began.
Homemade Social, a boutique social media agency in Phoenix, received four inbound leads from Claude between September 18 and 30, 2026. Before that, it had none. Cited Co, the AI visibility agency Lauren Lerner runs out of Scottsdale, Arizona, started the work on July 14, 2026. Three things drove the result. We narrowed the agency to one lane AI tools could name it for, food and beverage brands. We turned its press and credentials into structured data AI systems can read. And we published lane-specific content on a steady cadence instead of in one batch. If you want leads from Claude or any other AI assistant, those are the three levers to copy.

This page shows the starting point, what Cited Co built, how the leads arrived, and what we think it means for other service businesses. One note on method up front: the leads told Homemade Social founder Becca Bunch directly that they found the agency through Claude. That is self-reported attribution, and we treat it that way below.
What the Research Shows
Gartner (2024) predicted traditional search engine volume would drop 25% by 2026 as buyers move questions to AI chatbots and virtual agents.
Adobe Analytics (2025) measured a 1,200% increase in traffic from generative AI sources to US retail sites in February 2025 compared to July 2024.
In the same Adobe (2025) survey of 5,000 US consumers, 39% had already used generative AI for online shopping, and 53% planned to that year.
A McKinsey ConsumerWise survey (2026) found 68% of US consumers used at least one AI tool in the past three months, and 19% used AI to discover or decide on brands, products, or services.
Cited Co baseline scan (July 17, 2026): on “Best UGC agency for food and beverage brands?” none of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or Claude named Homemade Social.
The McKinsey number matters most here. Nearly one in five US consumers already uses AI to choose brands and services. The marketers who hire agencies like Homemade Social are consumers too, and they bring the habit to work.
A real agency that AI could not place in its own niche.
Homemade Social is not a startup. Becca Bunch founded the agency in 2019, and its client list includes Mom Water, Recess Pickleball, Tate’s Bake Shop, and True Food Kitchen. Vendry named it a top influencer marketing and UGC agency in 2024. The team grew Recess Pickleball’s Instagram from 2,000 to 22,000 followers.
None of that showed up where it counted. Our July 17, 2026 baseline ran eight buyer queries across all four AI platforms. Two came back empty everywhere: “Best UGC agency for food and beverage brands?” and “Top social media management agency in Arizona?” For a Phoenix agency whose best work is with food and drink brands, those are the two answers that matter most.
There was one bright spot. Claude was the only platform that already named Homemade Social with detail, describing it as a downtown Phoenix agency known for community-driven content. ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini named Thrive, Scott Social, and Zion & Zion instead.
Before (July 2026)
- Not named by any AI platform for food and beverage UGC
- Not named for “top social media agency in Arizona”
- Press page was 39 image thumbnails with zero readable text
- No sitemap ever submitted to Google Search Console
- No recorded leads from Claude
After (September 2026)
- Three live pages built for the food and beverage lane
- 25 press items rewritten as text, with Person schema tying Becca Bunch to 22 profiles
- Sitemap submitted, 339 pages discovered
- Lane-specific posts published on September 6, 14, and 25
- Four inbound leads from Claude between September 18 and 30
Reported by the leads themselves, September 18 to 30, 2026
How we got Homemade Social leads from Claude.
Cited Co ran the same process we use with every client, documented on our how it works page. The difference here was focus. We did not try to make Homemade Social visible for everything. We picked one lane and went deep.
Homemade Social serves beauty, wellness, food, and beverage brands. We chose food and beverage as the single lane to win first. That is where its strongest proof lives (Mom Water, Tate’s Bake Shop, Recess Pickleball), and where the baseline showed the biggest gap. AI tools recommend specialists. A generalist is hard to cite.
We built and published a food and beverage social media agency page, a Phoenix location page, and a food and beverage influencer marketing page. Each opens with a direct answer, carries FAQPage schema, and links every named client to its own case study. Every scored query in the program now has a live page behind it.
The press page held real coverage from Create & Cultivate, Authority Magazine, Vendry, and AZ Foothills, but all of it lived inside images. We read all 25 linked items, wrote each one up as text, and corrected four claims that no longer held up. Then we added Person schema for Becca Bunch with 22 sameAs links so AI systems see the founder and the agency as one entity.
The site had never submitted a sitemap to Google Search Console. We submitted one on August 28, 2026, and Google discovered 339 pages. We consolidated two competing press URLs with 301 redirects, added FAQPage schema to the services and UGC pages, and fixed a contact page that described the agency as Scottsdale-based when it is in Phoenix.
Lane-specific posts went live on September 6, September 14, and September 25, with weekly Google Business Profile posts alongside them. We space posts on purpose. AI platforms re-crawl on their own schedules, and a steady trickle gives each crawl something new to find. The first Claude lead arrived on September 18.
How the four leads arrived.
All four leads contacted Homemade Social in the last two weeks of September and told Becca Bunch they found the agency through Claude. We are not naming the brands or the people here, because they are Homemade Social’s prospects, not ours.
| Lead | Date | Source reported |
|---|---|---|
| Lead 1 | September 18, 2026 | Claude |
| Lead 2 | September 25, 2026 | Claude |
| Lead 3 | September 29, 2026 | Claude |
| Lead 4 | September 30, 2026 | Claude |
Here is our honest read on attribution. We cannot isolate which single asset sent each lead, and self-reported sources are imperfect. What we can say is this. Homemade Social had no Claude leads before September 18. Then four arrived in thirteen days, right after the lane pages, press rebuild, and September posts went live.
A visibility score is a leading indicator. Leads are the scoreboard. When four brands in two weeks say they found you through Claude, the work is doing its job.
Lauren Lerner, Founder, Cited Co
Becca’s own lead log puts those four in context. Over three months, Homemade Social got 35 new-lead notifications, and four of them named Claude as the source. That’s about one in every nine new leads, from a platform that couldn’t place the agency in its niche when the work began in July.
When we started, my agency didn’t show up on any of the major AI platforms when someone asked for the best UGC agency for food and beverage brands. Lauren built out our service pages, a Phoenix page, a pillar page, blog posts, schema, and a press page. Within a few months, Claude was sending us real leads.
Becca Bunch, Founder and CEO, Homemade Social
Why the leads came from Claude before ChatGPT.
Claude was already Homemade Social’s strongest platform at baseline, so it had the shortest distance to travel. When Claude searches the web to answer a recommendation question, it favors pages that answer the question directly and back it with checkable facts. The lane pages were written for exactly that kind of reader.
Our view: you should not pick a favorite platform, but you should expect results to show up unevenly. Living with Lolo, the Scottsdale design firm where Lauren Lerner first built this system, has 32 all-time leads from AI platforms, and ChatGPT sends most of them. Homemade Social’s first AI leads came from Claude. The same work, applied to a different starting position, opened a different door first. The Living with Lolo case study shows the other side of that pattern.
The broader lesson for any service business is that AI tools cite specifics: a clear niche, a named city, a founder with a verifiable record, and pages that answer real questions in plain language. Our guide to writing content AI tools cite breaks that down, and this explainer on generative engine optimization covers the discipline behind it.
What to copy from this case study.
First, pick one lane and own it before you expand. Homemade Social could have chased every vertical it serves. Instead it became the obvious answer for one, and that is what got it named. Second, audit what AI can actually read about you. Credentials locked inside images, logos, or PDFs might as well not exist. Third, publish steadily. One post every ten days beats three posts on the same afternoon.
